Naturalists In Training (NITS) Program
For youth aged 11-16 years


Naturalists in Training

The Fall program includes 4 expanded sessions, and meets at the Guelph Lake Nature Centre. Nature educators will engage the young people in “hands-on” activities with plants, birds, mammals, frogs, and rocks, and will guide explorations of trails and a marsh. Fall program starts on Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and continues monthly until Sunday, December 18th.

The Winter program includes 4 expanded sessions with one evening program, plus a field trip and an overnight camping trip. Winter program begins on January 21, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm, continues monthly through April 28th, and winds up with an overnight campout at Long Point. NOTE: the February 4th session meets on Saturday evening.

The cost is $40.00 per youth for the Fall program, to a maximum of $80.00 per family, if more than 2 youths are enrolled in the same program. For the longer Winter program, the cost is $50.00 per youth, to a maximum of $100.00 per family. Please register before the first meeting.
